The Malta Film Commission (MFC) is a government body advising the Minister responsible for the film sector. The MFC is in charge of the promotion, development and support of the audiovisual industry, whose enhancement is strongly in the interest in the Maltese Government. The advancement of the film industry is achieved through various policies, services, and incentives. In its role, the MFC offers ongoing assistance for all productions throughout the complete filmmaking process. Financial support is secured over the MFC’s cash rebate programme. This is a production incentive in the form of a reimbursement available to both domestic and international companies with qualifying productions for eligible costs incurred in Malta. The maximum cash rebate percentage is 40%.
