In 2010, the Slovak Film Commission (SFC) has established the Slovak Audiovisual Fund (AVF) in order to promote Slovakia and its regions as a “film-friendly country, which supports national and international filmmakers along the film value chain: development, production, distribution, promotion and sales, etc., Slovakia presents a highly developed audiovisual industry with necessary infrastructure. The AVF is the main public funding institution for the Slovak film industry. The incentive programme is a cash rebate of 33% with a minimum local spending of 100k€ for feature films and there is no limit to the budget of eligible cost. 

The rebate is payable to the local production partner or the international company’s local branch.
