Currently, the Switzerland Film Commissions is a network of 4 regional film commissions, each serving as a point of contact for film makers. Within the next 2 years Switzerland Film Commissions will establish the new Film Commission Switzerland. Switzerland has ratified the European Convention on Cinematographic Coproduction, by which a minimum participation of 20% in bilateral and a minimum of 10% in multilateral co-productions between the 43 signatory states is allowed. For promoting interest in filming in Switzerland, the Swiss Ministry of Culture provides a fund called FiSS intended for official co-productions with Swiss producers going up to 40% of all local eligible expenses. Minimum spending is SFR300k and maximum funding may be SFR600k. Total budget is SFR6m.
